Aquatein is the cheapest per gram, SuprWater the most concentrated, Amul the lightest, and SWÆT carries the most protein in a standard 500ml bottle.
"Best" depends on whether you are optimising for grams, rupees, calories, or the ingredient list. So rather than crown a winner and bury the trade-offs, here is the whole picture, with sources, including the places where our competitors beat us.
Who writes this site, and how did we keep the table honest?
SWÆT makes one of the four drinks compared below, and this site belongs to SWÆT. Every competitor figure in the table comes from a live public source: the brand's own product pages, retailer listings, or barcode-level nutrition databases, checked in July 2026. Where a number could not be confirmed, the table says so.
We set rules for this page. Unverified numbers stay labelled as unverified instead of being rounded into facts. Approximate prices carry the month we checked them, because Indian D2C pricing moves often. And every brand gets its real win stated plainly, including the rivals that beat SWÆT on price per gram of protein.

Notes on the table:
- Amul Protein Water: protein, calories and ingredients per 250ml can from the Open Food Facts barcode record (2026). Launch press in June 2025 described a 500ml bottle, but retail SKUs on Amazon.in are 250ml cans. The only price data we found is wholesale: ₹70 to ₹73 per can in 24-can lots on IndiaMART (July 2026), which is not a shelf price. Amul's own protein products catalogue did not list Protein Water when we checked.
- Aquatein PRO: protein, ingredients and the ₹150 price from Aquatein's product page (2026). The 500ml size appears in Amazon.in listing titles rather than the brand's own copy. The roughly 90 kcal figure comes from a third-party tracker we could not verify, so treat it as unconfirmed.
- SuprWater: protein, calories, bottle size, ingredients and the ₹179 single-bottle price from the Tata 1mg listing (2026). Amazon pack pricing implies up to roughly ₹270 per bottle, so we show a range.
- SWÆT: figures from our own label: 24g whey protein isolate, 96.44 kcal, 0g added sugar, 0.11g carbs, 275mg sodium, 500ml, ₹200 MRP. FSSAI licences 12726999000249 and 12721999000283.
What do the numbers actually say?
Three things stand out. SuprWater is the most concentrated drink, 24g in 330ml. Aquatein is the cheapest confirmed bottle, at ₹150 and about ₹7.1 per gram. SWÆT matches the highest protein count, 24g, in a full 500ml at 96 calories, with monk fruit instead of sucralose.
On calorie efficiency, Amul and SWÆT tie at about 4.0 kcal per gram of protein (40 kcal for 10g; 96.44 kcal for 24g). SuprWater runs 5.4 kcal per gram, partly because it carries 7g of added BCAAs. Aquatein's reported 90 kcal would put it near 4.4, but that figure is unconfirmed, so we will not treat it as settled.
On sweeteners, sucralose dominates but is not universal. Aquatein PRO and SuprWater both list sucralose on their ingredient panels. Amul's published list names no sweetener at all, which is odd for a zero-sugar drink and worth checking on the physical can. SWÆT uses monk fruit, which has held US FDA GRAS ("generally recognised as safe") status since 2010, per the Cleveland Clinic. We have written a full piece on whether monk fruit is safe.

Which protein water should you pick?
It depends on what you are optimising for. Pick Amul for the lightest serving, Aquatein for the lowest confirmed price, SuprWater for maximum protein in minimum volume, and SWÆT for the most protein you can get in a standard 500ml bottle without sucralose. Each case below is genuine, not politeness.
Pick Amul Protein Water if you want the lightest serving
A 250ml can at 40 kcal is the smallest calorie commitment in the category, and the small format suits anyone who finds 500ml a chore. The trade-offs: 10g of protein per can, no confirmed shelf price, and Amul's own catalogue did not list the product when we checked in July 2026, so confirm it is stocked near you.
Pick Aquatein PRO if price decides it
₹150 per bottle is the lowest confirmed retail price in the table, held consistently across single bottles, 12-packs and 24-packs on Aquatein's own site. That works out to roughly ₹7.1 per gram of protein, the cheapest confirmed figure here, from the longest-standing brand in the category. You give up 3g of protein per bottle versus SWÆT and SuprWater, and you get sucralose.
Pick SuprWater if you want maximum protein in minimum volume
24g in a 330ml bottle is the densest drink in this comparison, with 7g of BCAAs on top. If finishing a full 500ml feels like work, this is the efficient choice. The costs: the highest calories per gram of protein in the table at 5.4 kcal per g, and a price that swings from ₹179 to roughly ₹270 depending on where you buy.
Pick SWÆT if you want the most protein in a full 500ml without sucralose
24g of whey protein isolate, 96 calories, 0g added sugar, monk fruit instead of sucralose, and five ingredients on the label, at ₹200 MRP. At about ₹8.3 per gram SWÆT is not the cheapest bottle here. Our argument is that it is the most complete label for the money. We make it, so weigh that sentence accordingly.
Are there other protein waters worth knowing about?
Yes. Not Rocket Science launched in May 2026 with 22g of whey isolate per 500ml bottle at ₹199, sweetened with erythritol and stevia, plus an electrolyte blend and 5g of BCAAs. Aquatein also sells a 15g vegan protein water. Neither has the retail history of the four above yet.
Not Rocket Science is the closest thing SWÆT has to a direct twin: same 500ml format, similar price, whey isolate, no sucralose, per MediaBrief's launch coverage (2026). It also packs up to 1,300mg of electrolytes, per Passionate in Marketing (2026). SWÆT's label carries 275mg of sodium but no full electrolyte blend; if electrolytes matter to you, that is a real difference in their favour. Its calories run higher, 107 to 115 kcal per bottle depending on flavour, against SWÆT's 96.44 kcal. Aquatein's 15g vegan line, launched November 2025, is the option if whey is off the table entirely (Hotelier India, 2025).
What about clear whey powder like Protyze?
Protyze sells clear whey isolate powder, not bottled water. You shake one scoop with 300 to 400ml of water for a 24g protein drink that looks and drinks like juice. At ₹5,199 for 30 servings on Amazon.in (July 2026), it works out to about ₹173 per serving, roughly ₹7.2 per gram.
That per-gram number surprised us: premium clear whey powder is only modestly cheaper than Aquatein's bottle, and cheaper than SWÆT by about a rupee per gram. The honest read: if you drink your protein at home and do not mind measuring, mixing and washing up, Protyze-style powder is a sensible buy. Bottles exist for the other case: the gym bag and the commute, where you pay for a drink that is ready when you are.
